Zoho, and platforms like it, ship with hundreds of ready integrations — to payments, invoicing, email, calendars, e-commerce. A brilliant app you built with AI ships with exactly zero. It knows only itself.

That gap is not a footnote. For most businesses it is the whole difference between a clever tool and an operation that runs, because no business runs on one app.

The stack you actually run on

Think about the tools a typical business here touches every day. In Portugal, certified invoicing is not optional — Moloni, InvoiceXpress, Vendus, Primavera. Payments flow through Stripe, and locally through MB WAY and Multibanco via gateways like Easypay or Ifthenpay, or SEPA direct debit. Email and documents live in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Marketing runs on Mailchimp or Brevo. Sales talk to customers on WhatsApp Business, take calls through Ringover or Aircall, and book through Calendly. Orders come from Shopify or WooCommerce. Signatures go through DocuSign.

Your custom app connects to none of these until someone builds each bridge. Until then, the gap is filled by a person copying data by hand — the exact manual work the app was meant to remove.

A "zap" is not a pipeline

The temptation is to reach for the quickest possible connection — a single automation between two tools and call it done. That works right up to the first time it doesn't: an API times out, a duplicate slips through, a record arrives half-formed, and now your invoicing and your CRM quietly disagree about reality. A brittle connection does not announce its failures; it just corrupts your data politely, in the background.

We build these pipelines with the right tool for the shape of the problem — n8n or Make for orchestration you can see and change, and direct APIs or small serverless functions where the logic needs to be exact. The aim is always the same: data flows securely and correctly between your bespoke app and the outside world, and stays correct when something inevitably goes wrong.

Anyone can now generate the app. Far fewer can make it a reliable citizen of a business that already runs on a dozen other systems.
